I have been planning this shoot for over two years. In Australia the lavender blooms between November to March, this image was shot in February. Arriving after a two hour drive, I noticed a sign at the gate read “private function”. The restaurant car park was empty and there was no sign of another person. This scene runs along the length of the carpark, so I decided to set up for the shot but kept a low profile as it was so quiet. After about half hour of shooting I was approached by a man and was told that I was on private property and would have to leave immediately as he was going to lock the gate. I was very fortunate to be able to capture this image before being asked to leave.
